Since he was 10 years old, Noddy Watts had a passion for radical American cars. Big engines, big wheels and big noise are in his blood. His two favourite plates are NAWTEE on his Naughty T Bucket and SPRNNT on his 63 Falcon Sprint.

The Whangamata Beach Hop was established in 2001 and Noddy has been involved right from the start. The Hop turns back the clock in the beautiful coastal town to the nostalgic 1950’s and 60’s. Over 100,000 people flood the town each year to get a look at New Zealand's most exceptional classic cars.

Noddy says, in the classic car world, personalised plates are often a clue as to what kind of car it’s on or the story behind the car. He doesn’t see why anyone would invest so much in their car without the finishing touch of a personalised plate. He sees personalised plates as the crowning glory of any classic car.
